Frequently Asked Questions

Why Degrata Tactical?
Our opinion, is that Law Enforcement or Military, being shot at is being shot at. There is no difference. For that reason, we train both Law Enforcement and Military the same, for success when the shooting starts. We feel that even though there are many excellent courses available, very few of them truly focus on proven combat skills. Most of the firearms courses available focus on target shooting skills. The focus of all of our courses, is success in combat.

How do I host a course and how much does it cost?
Hosting a Degrata Tactical course, will cost you nothing. Unless you incur expenses for a range or promoting the course, hosting a course will cost $0. Give us a call, e-mail us, or download a Hosting Packet. Let us know what date would work best for you and what course, or courses, you have in mind, then we'll begin to discuss the logistics.

What do I get for hosting a course?
For hosting a course, you will get 2 free slots for every 10 paid students.

If we want to host a course, what is expected of us?
We ask that you help promote the course in your area and assist us in setting up required facilities, such as a range, classroom, school, etc.

If we host a course, what does Degrata Tactical provide?
We are a fully mobile training operation. Inside the Continential United States, it is possible for us to arrive with training weapons, barricades, targets, and safety equipment. Outside the United States, it is a completely different story. It would be best for you to call, so we can plan training events together. Each and every country is different, has different laws, has different things that are available to them, etc.

How far will Degrata Tactical travel if we want to host a course?
We are capable and willing to travel to most parts of the world. Our destination, of course, may limit what we are capable of bringing with us. We will NOT train any individuals, agencies, or groups unfriendly to the United States or it's allies.

What are the hours of instruction?
Hours of instruction depend upon the course and distance to ranges, etc. We generally try to start training sessions at, or before, 0800. The length of training days also depend upon several things, such as ranges, night fire, etc. Since we only have a limited amount of time with students, we like to spend as much time training as possible. Once we determine that students are no longer retaining as much or safety becomes more of a factor because students are tired, we quit. Most training days are between 8 and 14 hours long. Breaks are given for lunch and throughout the training day.

What are students expected to bring with them to class?
Students will be expected to bring all gear required for the course they have signed up for. A summary of the requirements are on each of the course announcements. After signing up for a course, full requirements will be sent to the newly enrolled student. Since our training environment is very fluid, we need to be able to move from one training environment to another within a few minutes. We do not like a lot of "down" time for students and need them to be ready for any part of the course at any time. This includes loading magazines.

How do I know what is required for a course?
Eventually, time allowing, course requirements will be posted along with course descriptions. Until that time, we will make them available upon request. We know that part of determining a course, is the cost factor of ammunition, Simunition, etc., so we will make them available as soon as possible.

If I don't have the required gear, can Degrata Tactical provide it?
Most likely, but it depends upon the course and number of participants. Please make arrangements for ammunition, Simunition, etc. well ahead of time. Ammunition and Simmunition costs will still be the responsibility of the student. Foreign officers coming into the United States for training, contact us ahead of time and we can arrange for you to borrow weapons, while training.

Can our department use our own Airsoft or Simunition Gear?
Yes, as long it passes our safety inspection, but the responsibility of the equipment remains with your department.

How do I register for a course?
You may start the registration process for a course by calling us at 605-528-1600, use our contact page, or download a training application. Fill the application out and fax or mail it back to us. Once you return the application, with payment, you will be registered. You can download a training application HERE.

Is a deposit necessary to hold my slot?
Yes, unless other arrangements are made, 100% of the course fee is necessary to hold your slot in a course. You can cancel your registration for a course for a full refund up until 30 days prior to the course start date, at which time you will lose your deposit. Full registration fees must be received at least 30 days prior to the course start date, because we will determine at that time whether or not to proceed with course planning or cancel it.

What forms of payment do you accept?
Degrata Tactical is capable of accepting Mastercard, Visa and Discover Cards, as well as agency checks.
