Happy New Year Everyone!

We're looking forward to 2010 and to an aggressive training schedule. We have learned a lot in the last few years and grown as a company, as individuals, and as instructors.

We would like to thank you all for any support that you've given us. We would like to remind you that we would appreciate any ideas or suggestions that you might want to share with us.

We would enjoy training with you in the coming year. If you are interested in attending a course or would prefer to receive free slots in a course by hosting it in your area, please contact us as soon as possible and we'll get something on the schedule.

Train HARD or don't train at all!

Stay Safe,
Wade A. Deuter

A man must know his destiny. If he does not recognize it, then he is lost. By this I mean, once, twice, or at the very most, three times, fate will reach out and tap a man on the shoulder. If he has the imagination, he will turn around and fate will point out to him what fork in the road he should take, if he has the guts, he will take it. - General George S. Patton

LWRC M6-A3 10.5" Short-Stroke Gas-Piston Upper

I reported a while ago that I received this upper receiver in a very short time, when even pieces and parts were hard to get. That was the first thing that I was impressed with.

I pulled the extractor to put an extractor buffer ring on it, but to my surprise, it already had one. I wiped it down and reassembled everyting. I screwed my Gemtech M4-02 Suppressor on the upper and fired about 25 zero/test rounds though it. It was quiet and cycled flawlessly, even with the 10.5" barrel, which are normally prone to cyclic problems.

Well, I figured that 25 rounds wasn't really a "true" test, so I've been to the range 6 different time with this rifle and fired between 150 to 200 rounds each time. Since I received the receiver, I have put a 1000 rounds through this upper. That alone, is more impressive, but the real impressive part is that I've done it, WITHOUT A CLEANING! I have field stipped the upper to check it for dirt, fowling, etc., but I didn't even wiped it down.

If you are in need of a new upper, or want to switch over to a gas-piston system, check them out at http://www.lwrci.com. You'll be impressed.

"The Day it Snowed in Vietnam: Christmas 1969"
Copyright 1995-2009 Jim Schueckler

Carols played in the mess hall and the calendar read "December 24, 1969," but it didn't feel like Christmas Eve. We were tired from a long day of flying many missions picking up infantrymen and recon patrols from field locations, bringing them back to the big airfield at Phan Thiet for the Christmas cease-fire. Gunship helicopters had escorted us because they were usually needed, but today not a shot had been fired in either direction. Soldiers on both sides of this war were glad to allow the cease-fire to start one day early.

Our world seems to be changing. It wasn't long ago, when bad-guys would avoid contact with the police. More and more we are seeing direct intentional opposition to law enforcement, and now military personnel within the United States, with well planned and well coordinated attacks. Not only are bad-guys more willing to confront us, but they are more violent and better armed. They are, more often, bringing the fight to us.

Degrata Tactical offers advanced weapons and tactics training for law enforcement and military personnel in a wide variety of subjects. These subjects have to do with the higher risk aspects of our jobs. We offer training that, we feel, you will find unique.

Our goal, as a business, is to save lives. We believe that we can be successful in our goal, by providing training that prepares our course participants, for a lethal encounter, with the experience of multiple force-on-force encounters in a safe training environment, with the realism necessary to inoculate course participants to combat.

We want to bring safe training that is as close to real as possible to you. We can travel to your location and train multiple officers or your entire department, or you can send individual officers to attend training courses at our location.

If you host a course, you would be asked to help promote the course to other agencies and arrange classroom and range facilities. For hosting a course, you would be given two free slots for every 10 paid attending officers.

Whether your officers need a re-fresher course in firearms or vehicle stops, or need advanced training with rifles/carbines or building entry, we can help!

Courses are often customized for department needs and costs vary. For that reason, please see our website for more details.

A Marine stationed in Afghanistan recently received a "Dear John" Letter from his girlfriend back home. It read as follows:

Dear Ricky,

I can no longer continue our relationship. The distance between us is just too great. I must admit that I have cheated on you twice since you've been gone, and it's not fair to either of us. I'm sorry.

Please return the picture of me that I sent to you.

Love,
Becky

The Marine, with hurt feelings, asked his fellow Marines for any snapshots they could spare of their girlfriends, sisters, ex-girlfriends, aunts, cousins etc.

In addition to the picture of Becky, Ricky included all the other pictures of the pretty gals he had collected from his buddies. There were 57 photos in that envelope along with this note:

Dear Becky,

I'm so sorry, but I can't quite remember who the f**k you are. Please take your picture from the pile, and send the rest back to me.
